Dear diary,
A near goal, launched by Harry Kane, one of the most recognizable names in the Premier League, ricocheted off a defender. The ball is controlled by a Tottenham midfielder, then Lo Celso (I think) rockets it off another defender and it sneaks past the Everton keeper for the lone goal of today's lone PL match. I watched that occur during my lunch break.
That was the only live sports programming today. Still no basketball, no baseball, no hockey... there are a lot of positive covid tests, though. There are quite a few NBA practice facilities shut down for covid concerns, as well. There are some MLB teams wondering about their covid test results that were evidently delayed due to a holiday weekend, too. But... There were no live sports in America today. Again.
Yet and still, today is the 23rd anniversary of my and the bride's wedding. I put about as much thought into the roses and dual heart pendant I got her as I usually do any gift I buy: little, but present. I wanted to give her something to say, Thanks. Thanks for all the years to have a companion, to be valued, to be accepted, to be taught... to be loved.
Happy July 6!
