ACQUIRE as NEEDED (daily) January 11
Monday of College Football ESPN Invitational Final
With roughly 10 seconds left in the game tonight, C.J. McCollum spins 360°, dribbles through his legs, steps back from his defender, rises from about 15 feet and puts the ball cleanly through nylon. Trailblazers go ahead 112 - 111 over the Raptors, which can't get it back in the waning seconds. After walking the dog, which came after most of the College Bowl Game, I was able to catch the Blazers' victory. With two consecutive wins, Portland sits 5th in the Western Conference. Most teams in the Association have played ten games of this 72-game season.
Now, to the winner of the ESPN invitational. I told you what was going to happen. Nobody else has this… of course, I kid. I, like most everybody, predicted Alabama would win the whole thing. My disdain for the disparity in college football and the NCAA's lack of testicular fortitude is likely presumed, if my reputation precedes me not. I enjoy the sport and like to keep up on the guys feeding into the NFL. I'm not blind to the financial machine, nor its disregard for player safety and fans' interest alike. I believe that scrupulous players and coaches are out there. I will continue to support and follow college football because of and on spite of all these things. Congratulations, Crimson Tide!
The Australian Open is upon us and qualifiers began in Abu Dhabi tonight. Stay tuned for some poor to mediocre tennis coverage. This is bakesHere.
